How to Hide Telegram Profile Picture From Specific Contacts Desktop and Mobile

Telegram gives you more control over your privacy than most messaging apps — and that includes deciding who can see your profile picture. Whether you’re trying to stay low-key from certain people or just keeping things professional, Telegram makes it easy to hide your photo from specific contacts.

Here’s how to do it on both desktop and mobile.

🔒 On Mobile (Android & iOS)

1. Open Telegram.
2. Tap the three-line menu (top-left) on Android, or go to Settings directly on iOS.
3. Go to Privacy and Security.
4. Tap Profile Photo.
5. Choose My Contacts or Nobody, depending on your preference.
6. Tap Add Exceptions (under “Never Allow”).
7. Select the contacts you want to block from seeing your profile picture.
8. Tap the checkmark (✔) or Done to save.

Your profile picture will now be hidden from only those specific people.

🖥️ On Desktop (Windows & macOS)

1. Open the Telegram Desktop app.
2. Click the three-line menu (top-left).
3. Select Settings → Privacy and Security.
4. Click on Profile Photos.
5. Choose My Contacts or Nobody.
6. Under Add exceptions, click Never Allow.
7. Select the contacts you want to hide your photo from.
8. Click Save.

Done. Those users won’t see your profile picture anymore, but everyone else will, depending on your general privacy setting.

⚠️ Quick Note:

If someone’s not in your contacts and you’ve chosen “My Contacts,” they won’t see your photo anyway — no need to block them individually. You can also use the “Always Allow” list to make exceptions if you choose “Nobody” as your default setting.
