If you’re seeing annoying pop-ups or websites aren’t working quite right, your browser’s cookie settings might be the problem. Cookies are small files that help websites remember you, keep you logged in, and load faster. Here’s how to turn on cookies in the most popular browsers.
Google Chrome
- Click the three dots in the top-right corner.
- Go to Settings.
- Scroll down and click Privacy and security.
- Select Cookies and other site data.
- Choose Allow all cookies.
That’s it—cookies are now enabled in Chrome.
Mozilla Firefox
- Click the three lines in the top-right corner.
- Go to Settings.
- Select Privacy & Security.
- Scroll to the Cookies and Site Data section.
- Make sure Standard is selected, or choose Custom and check Cookies.
You’re all set in Firefox.
Microsoft Edge
- Click the three dots in the top-right corner.
- Choose Settings.
- Go to Cookies and site permissions.
- Click Manage and delete cookies and site data.
- Turn on Allow sites to save and read cookie data.
Edge will now allow cookies.
Safari (Mac)
- Click Safari in the top menu and select Preferences.
- Go to the Privacy tab.
- Uncheck Block all cookies.
Cookies are now enabled on your Mac.
Why Enable Cookies?
Cookies keep your experience smooth:
- Websites remember your login info.
- Shopping carts stay full.
- Preferences are saved.
- Pages load faster.
If you ever need to turn cookies back off for privacy, just follow these steps in reverse.
