How to Import Bookmarks from Chrome to Edge?

Switching browsers doesn’t mean you have to start from scratch. If you’re moving from Google Chrome to Microsoft Edge, bringing your bookmarks (favorites) along is quick and easy. Here’s how to do it in just a few clicks.

Step-by-Step: Import Bookmarks from Chrome to Edge

  1. Open Microsoft Edge Launch Microsoft Edge on your computer. Make sure you’re using the latest version for the smoothest experience.
  2. Access the Import Tool
    • Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of Edge.
    • Select Settings.
    • In the left-hand menu, choose Profiles.
    • Click on Import browser data.
  3. Choose Chrome as the Source Under “Import from,” select Google Chrome from the dropdown menu.
  4. Pick What You Want to Import You’ll see a list of items you can bring over, including:
    • Favorites or bookmarks
    • Saved passwords
    • Browsing history
    • Autofill data (addresses, phone numbers, etc.)
    • Cookies
Make sure Favorites or Bookmarks is checked.
  5. Choose the Chrome Profile If you have more than one profile in Chrome, pick the one that has the bookmarks you want to import.
  6. Click Import Hit the Import button. Edge will process the request in a few seconds. When it’s done, you’ll see a confirmation message.
  7. Done! Your Chrome bookmarks will now appear in Edge under Favorites. You can access them by clicking the star icon or pressing Ctrl + Shift + O.

Pro Tip: Set Edge as Your Default Browser (Optional)

If you’re ready to make the full switch, you can set Edge as your default browser:

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Default apps (on Windows).
  • Scroll to Web browser and select Microsoft Edge.
