How to Make Images Circular in Google Slides
Google Slides is a favorite for presentations, but sometimes your images need a little polish to look their best. If you want to make your images circular in Google Slides, there’s a fast way to do it—no extra software required. Here’s how.
Step 1: Insert Your Image
- Open your Google Slides presentation.
- Go to the slide where you want the circular image.
- Click Insert in the top menu, then choose Image.
- Upload your photo or select one from Drive, Photos, or by URL.
Step 2: Select the Image
- Click on the image to select it. You’ll see blue handles around the edges.
Step 3: Use the Crop Tool
- With the image selected, find the Crop icon in the toolbar (it looks like two overlapping corners).
- Click the small arrow next to the Crop icon to open the “Mask image” options.
Step 4: Choose the Circle Mask
- In the “Mask image” menu, you’ll see various shapes. Look for the oval (ellipse) shape.
- Click it. Your image will instantly be cropped into an oval.
Step 5: Make It a Perfect Circle
- Drag the corners of your image to adjust the size.
- Hold down the Shift key as you resize. This keeps the proportions locked, turning the oval into a perfect circle.
- Position and size the circle as needed on your slide.
Step 6: Polish and Adjust
- If you want, you can add a border or shadow. With the image selected, use the Format options on the right or the toolbar to style it up.
That’s it. You now have a crisp, circular image in your Google Slides presentation.
Bonus: Duplicate and Reuse
Once you have a circular image, you can copy and paste it elsewhere in your deck, or even replace the image inside the same mask. Just right-click and select Replace image.
Final Tips
- If your image isn’t perfectly square, you may need to crop it manually before masking, or adjust the frame until it looks right.
- This technique works with any shape, so you can experiment with stars, hearts, or custom silhouettes.
