How to Schedule Tweets on the Twitter Website

If you’re trying to stay consistent on Twitter without having to be online 24/7, scheduling tweets is your solution. Fortunately, you don’t need third-party tools — Twitter’s built-in scheduler lets you plan your posts in advance right from the website.

Here’s a quick, no-nonsense guide to scheduling tweets using Twitter’s web interface.

Step 1: Log in to Twitter on Your Desktop

Go to twitter.com and log in with your account credentials. This feature isn’t available on the mobile app — it’s desktop only for now.

Step 2: Click to Compose a Tweet

On the left-hand menu, hit the “Post” button (formerly “Tweet”) to open the composer window.

Step 3: Write Your Tweet

Add your message, hashtags, mentions, or media (images, GIFs, polls). Double-check spelling and formatting now — once it’s scheduled, editing is not an option.

Step 4: Click the Calendar Icon

At the bottom of the tweet composer, you’ll see a small calendar with a clock icon. Click it to open the scheduling options.

Step 5: Set the Date and Time

Use the date picker and time fields to choose when you want your tweet to go live. Twitter uses a 24-hour clock and your local time zone, so plan accordingly.

Step 6: Confirm and Schedule

Once you’ve picked your time, click “Confirm”, then hit “Schedule”. Done. Your tweet is now queued up and will post automatically.

Bonus: View or Manage Scheduled Tweets

To review your scheduled tweets:

  1. Open the tweet composer again.
  2. Click the calendar icon.
  3. In the bottom-left, click “Scheduled Tweets”.

You can view, delete, or duplicate tweets from here — but again, you can’t edit them.

Why Use Scheduled Tweets?

  • Stay consistent without being glued to your phone.
  • Reach global audiences by posting in their active hours.
  • Plan campaigns or announcements in advance.

If you’re serious about Twitter, scheduling helps you work smarter.
